Who am I?

Hello, I am Viktoria Jeanroy; originally from Hungary, but now based in Aeugst am Albis with my French husband and our two girls. Pottery is my passion.

I fell in love with ceramics at an art camp in Hungary one summer, when I was about 10 years old. I quickly discovered that working with clay was something special for me. So calming, creative, versatile, and satisfying (I could go on…:-)). However, my life went in another direction. Much later, in 2007, I moved to Zurich, Switzerland on my own, and never would have imagined that ceramics would be calling me while I worked in the world of banking and finance, but it did. I participated in several pottery courses in Switzerland, Italy and Austria and also I taught myself at the same time.

Once again though, I turned my back on my passion. In exchange I was blessed with a wonderful partner and two beautiful, sweet girls.

What I needed to learn was that my family and my passion both had an important place in my life.

So here I am, today I am practicing the knowledge of all these years mainly in my home studio, but also in a very cozy ceramic studio, Keramikatelier im Rank, in Mettmenstetten, Switzerland, lead by another creative artist, Myrta Arnold.

I create hand-built, functional, yet decorative stoneware and porcelain objects, mainly tableware and light sculptures. Using a variety of techniques, I love to experiment with the endless possibilities of clay. You will discover lots of different colors, textures, patterns and creative designs in my work, which seek to harmonize the love, attention and detail, I mold into each unique piece.
